It pays to get laid off, not to quit. A simple way to get laid off quickly is to reply LoL to everything your boss says, and soon also in channels. If it doesn't work, say LoLo, extending it by further one character to LoLoL (and so on) as necessary. At least it will be a funny ending. Make sure they give you at least two months of severance for the terror they inflicted on you; accept nothing less.

This 🙌🙌

Also, the ending reminded me of a scene from 3 Idiots, where Aamir Khan's character tells his friend, an aspiring wildlife photographer who was forced to take up engineering by his father, and had just got a letter by his favorite photographer to be his assistant, "Go speak to your father, and explain it to him lovingly. Now don't be scared. Or else, after 50 years, if you grow old, end up in a hospital, waiting to die, then you will think that the letter was in your hand, the taxi was at the gate, if you had taken a little bit of courage, then life would've been something else."

I love it! You are so correct regarding the upcoming storm; it will engulf many. I am fortunate enough that I am really at the halfway point in my career, in a good place but questioning whether I want to make a change. I already exchanged the big corporate for the small laid back company where I'm treated like family. It's a comfortable, worthwhile living! I love my job, I am able to pursue my hobbies and spend time with family. But the question should always be - am I living life to the fullest and am I fulfilled? We only go around once on this rock; if you're living for money, you're already wasting it! Very fantastic post my friend!
